long story

I love shopping, designing, and making things. Todd loves me, so he bears with it all! Together, we are Todd Long and Rachel Macik-Long of League City, Texas. Todd is a retired police officer, now a full-time woodworker. I am a marketer by day and love to find or make the un-gettable get. 

We both come from families of antique appreciators and collectors. And now, we have a natural eye and appreciation furniture and little treasures with a long story.   

I love, love the strange and unexpected. Cleaned and framed baby dolls found in a salvage yard? Of course, I bought it. With so much computer-generated perfection these days, my heart flutters for imperfections, makers marks, artisan flare, and little pieces with long stories. 

Need a dining table? 2x4 pine. Need an end table? 2x4 pine. Need custom built-ins? 2x4 pine. Todd loves to over-build, over-construct, and under vanish. He prefers a matte finish or a thin stain. Skipping lacquer and high gloss allows your pieces to gain their patina. A little beeswax goes a long way to keep your wood furniture moisturized and soft to the touch.
